THE BODY WAY
Somatic Massage
&
Therapeutic Bodywork
Welcome.
If you've landed on this page you're probably looking for skilled and potent support for your body, mind, heart.. or some aspect of your being that is feeling challenged.
I offer highly personalised bodywork sessions that meet you where you're at and create space for the innate healing wisdom of the body through the power of intentional touch.
The Body Way is a hands-on somatic approach that views the body's signals as a direct route to understanding and wellbeing for the whole system.
The depth and variety of painful or overwhelming experiences that can occur in a human lifetime, as well as just the all-round stresses of modern life, may mean we end up living with a build-up of symptoms that create mild, chronic or acute discomfort (dis-ease) in the body. This could be showing up as:
Physical pain, tension or illness
Chronic stress, or a general sense of unease
Disconnection or numbness
Feelings that are intense or difficult to feel
Repetitive thoughts, movements or sensations
Sometimes our brains take a long time to catch on that something is 'wrong', but the body is much simpler, and like an animal, it knows when there is dis-ease and tries to get our attention via these somatic signals. So these sessions invite us to turn our attention to it with curiosity, care and acceptance, and in this way the body gradually entrusts itself to relax, revealing what it needs to be well.

A session begins by meeting the symptoms that are on the surface and engaging the soft and deep tissues, joints and fascia in the same way that a great massage loosens and opens up the body.
But unlike traditional bodywork, we also explicitly make room for the spectrum of emotions, thought patterns and energetic terrain that shape you, inviting all of this to be in reciprocity with the vast forces of life that originate beyond you or I.
As we listen, we let ourselves be guided by what emerges as we begin to explore, dropping below the surface symptoms and mental stories to the deeper sensations, images and feelings underneath, giving them permission to arise and evolve.
This can often turn out to be deeply relaxing, liberating or energising, creating physical ease in the short term. And over time, returning to attend to the animal body increases the experience of a full-bodied and wholehearted way of living.

This work is grounded in a synthesis of traditional bodywork techniques alongside somatic therapy, embodiment practices, meditation and prayer.
So alongside touch we may use any or a combination of: Focused breathing, verbal enquiry, sounding and movement, energy flow, imaginal travel, conscious touch and space giving.
Maybe you need to go deep.. firm pressure.. vigorous movement.. express sound.. work with the edges of discomfort..
Maybe you need gentleness.. holding.. slowness.. sustained touch.. space to feel.. sense.. find safety in the body..
Maybe it's something else.. or changes moment to moment.. it may be very hands-on or very subtle.
This will be unique to each person, and even for you will look different session to session.
All is welcome.

Option 1) Massage
This is for those who just want some good old fashioned, highly skilled TLC. Relaxation and restoration of the soft and deep tissues - just as you need it.
You may simply book a one-off session, or are welcome to come as often as needed.
90 minutes £90
Option 2) Therapeutic Bodywork
This is for those actively seeking support, reconnection and integration beyond just the physical layers of their being.
This can be very deep work. Therefore the regularity of the therapeutic container is crucial in building a solid relationship of trust so that the work we do together may be as beneficial as possible.
To this end sessions are booked in blocks of 6 and contained within a maximum 6 month period.
I find the optimum session frequency to be every other week. This keeps the momentum of the work active while allowing plenty of integration time between sessions, but depending on your needs and availability, sessions could be weekly or every two, three of four weeks.
To ensure a mutual commitment to the time set aside, I ask that the first session is paid for upon booking. On the day of your first session you will then pay in advance for your next session, and so on.
If you are new to my work the initial session allows you to see if it suits you and make an unpressured decision as to whether you wish to continue.
As part of the initial session time will be allocated to gain an understanding of your main area/s of focus, and on the sixth session we will review how things have progressed.
90 minutes £90

Hello, my name is Mirach. On my own healing journey, I continue to be humbled and fascinated by the power of intentional touch alongside relational presence, to bring about deep transformation in the cellular-energetic patterning of our beings.

During the course of my work I have studied, practiced or continue to be actively informed by:
Bodywork modalities such as Holistic Massage, Deep Tissue, NMT, Thai Stretch, Lomi Lomi, Kahuna, Myofascial Release and Full Body De-Armouring.
Embodiment practices of somatic dance & movement, Conscious Touch, Wheel of Consent, Authentic Voice, and Breathwork.
Psycho/therapeutic methods of IFS Parts Work, Somatic Experiencing, Gestalt, EFT, Authentic Relating, presence-based listening and self-enquiry.
And spiritually touched by explorations of consciousness through dance, meditative awareness, trance movement, nature-body connection, tantra, group ritual and plant medicine.
Having had my hands on bodies (therapeutically) for over a decade, I've practiced from Neals Yard, Totnes Natural Health Centre and Ola Chiropractic Clinic, and now work from my practice room on Dartington Estate.
Trusting in connection with the intelligence of life's rhythms, cycles, polarity & wholeness, I aim to offer bodywork that emerges when firmly rooted in the Great Mystery of which we are a part.
